We kicked things off by talking to the team about what they wanted to communicate besides the new hardware. With the look and feel locked in, we started sketching out the storyboards.

Watching the 3d playblasts helped me figure out the pacing for the copy—some copys worked best on solid backgrounds, while others were integrated into the shots to highlight specific features, along with some interactive animations.

The goal for the project was to subtly show the contrast between old and new technology, so I used a subtle glitch effect at the start to drive the concept home—a detail I also carried into the monitor elevation shots. This required a constant back-and-forth with the 3D team to export and import camera data, since many shots relied on 3D compositing in After Effects, using precise masking to seamlessly tuck the text behind the hardware elements.

The product needed to be the absolute hero, so keeping everything perfectly centered and polished was our main priority. We always adapt to the nature of the content, and this project is a great example of how motion design can act as the connecting thread—seamlessly driving the message forward while perfectly complementing the background visuals.
